Man dies in car crash
A 34-year-old man died yesterday in a single-car crash in Surrey. The accident occurred on 152nd Street near the on-ramp to Highway 1 westbound at about 1:45 a.m. The man's Volkswagen Beetle went out of control and smashed into a light standard. Speed and the wet road surface were named as factors by Surrey RCMP. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

This freaked me out, since my bf got home 20min earlier in his beetle and lives a couple blocks from the accident scene :(

Our condolences to the families.

Drive safe guys.

We are a small, tight knit community, I sure hope today finds us all well and with our families.

My heart breaks for the family that lost their VW enthusiast.

Take care one and all.

It was a new beetle, and SPEED was a FACTOR. We do pay for the choices we make, but we aren't the only ones that pay, its very sad to see and hear of accidents such as this.

Very sad indeed. I'm located at the intersection of 152nd St and 108 Ave and did hear all the emergency vehicles with sirens around that time and now I know why. Be careful all. Not the best of times for speed in weather we are getting these days. More so for those with the old bugs.
