this is a restoration question, one that i hope someone on this forum will be able to answer.

there are aftermarket dash pads availalbe, but as we all know, the repro crap doesnt fit and isnt of the same quality.

If you can help, then please do, if you cant, than don't waste my time or yours

this is a picture of a very nice restored scirocco in the USA

Well maybe he's not asking in the most ideal place, but give the guy a break. Besides, this information could turn out useful for all sorts of people in the future - regardless of what car they have. Think happy thoughts guys.  [_[

Unfortunately I don't know of any vinyl resto places. Hopefully someone can provide some useful information to ya.

But yea, maybe the vwdov.ca would yeild more appropriate responses   .

I'm hoping Aircooled and you have history James/Pointblank.  Looking at it from someone who has never heard of him before you both are looking like Samba Rant and Ravers.  Although not the best forum for the question perhaps an answer is still available.  There are enough of us here with enough of a history in VW's to at least know where to send him.  I wish I had an answer but sorry I don't.  I have although seen some amazing restorations done on vinyl.

2 cents................ it's all I have to spare

yeah, someone over at DOV or BC Drivers. i got a rocco too and have lots of ??s, but i certainly don't post them here. let's face the facts, waterpumper \"restoration\" isn't the specialty around here.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

I'll keep my head down in this one, but I will offer a possible vinyl repair solution. There is a company called FibreNew, and they \"might\" be able to fix a cracked dash, depending on how bad the dash is. Do a Google search for the contact info.

yes, Fibrenew will do this type of restoration.  While I worked at Hansig Automotive in the summer, he had come in a few times to repair dashboards from ICBC claims.  I remember him fixing a GTI dashboard.  anyways, he comes to you and has all his tools and equipment in his car.  Nice guy.  I can't remember his name

Look it up

You know what you guys that whole behavior/bashing is atrocious. The question could of been asked for a squareback not a scirocco and it was a valid resto question. I would like to think that if I came on asking about a good body shop to take my truck to I wouldn't get flamed. You told me not to take your teasing too personally and then you turn the other cheek and flog Jakub? Take a chill pill.

And wondering if thier can be peace and forgiving and forgetting on airspeed forums..

In both cases your reputations preceed you, as much as the fact that the question vas valid, people are entitled to there own opinions. If you burn your bridges from botrh sides, what makes you think any of the people on both sides of the water are going to reach out and give you a hand.

Guess its time for a name change...........

Kirin, you may need to seek a local A.A. chapter :P and you havent really trashed any one yet.

Kirin if you asked about a good body shop i would tell you, Now if in another thread you said 76's Bus was a cheap piece of shit and if he was into that sort of thing, I would tell you off, then if you asked for a bodyshop I would again tell you off... I know you and Jake have some sort of love thing going on and I am ok with that , Just dont think you can trash someones ride and think it is ok... [_[
