way to go guys. good times and congrats on moving up in the ranks.

i think it's pretty cool that the ssb has re-claimed it's title of fastest n/a street vw. (so far). 11.03 is going to be tough to beat.

Ya, but there is contraversy about the SSB being on the list as it doesn't conform to th Cal-Look.

yah, thats a tough nut.

the ole is it or is it not cal-look debate.

the way i see it, the same could be said about allen weiss' and mike lawless' and scott bakken's cars. i love them all and they have the cal look flavour, but they all race s/g and how often do they street drive their cars? (an honest question, because i dont know the answer to it. just food for thought).

and kris lauffers red 9 second vert is awesome, but is it \"cal-look?\".

i remember reading that esther \"e-girl\" was getting the gears because her car was a primered race only vw but it ran a damn quick 1/4.

i mean, there are bends and variances in every rule book. really the only one who gets to make the final decision is the one (or ones) in charge. i figure, as long as you're having fun and have a quick, semi cal-look street driven n/a vw, you're good to go.

but i'm not the boss. so until i get my own top 10/20, i'll just sit back with my bag of cheetos and toss a buck i the pot every once and awhile. ;)

They should post rules/reg's as far as what it takes to be on the list and then stick to it. The Cal-Look list is only going to get bigger and more will be at stake in coming years.

I don't have that problem with the list I created as I have hand made the 2 awards for top spots (N/A and Assisted) - nothing is really at stake other then bragging rights, if awards like what the Cal-Look forum has were up for grabs I'm sure things would get more heated and stricter rules would need to be applied.

Maybe that's the way to keep it from getting out of hand, have no prizes whatsoever.

Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

holy cow.

i just visited cal-look.com for the first time in a long time and it took me an hour to read over all that has been happening over there.

too bad, really. it's a shame that some people are getting their panties right twisted. i admire all that these guys have done. seriously, the people that build nice fast cars are a huge inspiration to me. allen weiss, mike lawless, mark herbert, muffler mike, the burn out king, scott bakken, troy palmer, aj sims, joel mohr, the lauffers, the locals, jim martin, lanny, darren, geoff, jim coma, alan, hoosier, james, hans, et al. all you guys putting together motors and cars give me hope to build my own. i can appreciate the work and time that is put into every project. i can appreciate the fact that some people like to go fast, some like to look good, some dont care about passenger seats and others like power adders.

different strokes for different folks, right.

you dont neccesarly have to like it, but show some respect and at least acknowledge the amount of time and effort that someone has put into something they're so passionate about.

it's just a shame when a little friendly competition turns into the salt lake city olympics figure skating final.

just a few of my thoughts.
