Subaru Anvil Heads

Talking to a guy that was at my work today, when  all of a sudden a nice little manx buggy goes ripping by. One of the other guys mentioned something about how he sure would like one of those. Well this guy proceeds to tell him that they are OK, but require a \"REAL\" engine in the back.  [_[ Of course I pipe up, and voice my thoughts on that particular comment. He then tells me that a 2.2 Suby engine belongs back there cause it pumps out 140hp and how they bolt right in and all that crap. I said that's great, but my engine puts out about 50 more than that. He then rambles on about how my engine isn't stock, and blah blah blah. I ended up shaking my head and walking away.
I guess some people don't get it....thats what makes people like us more unique.
Don't get me wrong, I think Subaru engines are great and all,...but wonder where they got that idea for the flat four configuration...hmmm.

Oh well could have been worse....he could have said a V8 belongs in it!  :mullet:

Here is one in a bug.

Yea they bolt in like any motor will with modification.  It's just that the subaru motor is a flat 4 design.

that radiator in the back seat sure looks cool.

anyone who wants to put a subaru engine in a bug likes to create more work for themselves than needed and is ignorant to the fact that their car will still get beat by a vw with an a/c motor.

My next project is going to be a subaru .  First thing I'm going to do is rip out that water pumping thing and put in a killer aircooded VW motor
Next one after that ,  a 5litre  mustang  , same deal

Hey Hans, how about this....

I'd love to put a 2.5L Type IV under the bed or my Toyota PU truck - a la mid-engine.
There's a guy that has done it already.....
