Cheap Place For A Vi?
« on: September 10, 2004, 08:42:16 AM »
Hey Guys,

Thought I'd ask on another local car forum. I need an out of province inspection performed on my 535i, and I'm hoping to find a decent shop that won't bugger up my car, and will do it cheap. The car is fully up to snuff, but I don't really feel like paying $100 to have it inspected. Any ideas?

  Thanx,

     Al

I'm pretty sure it's a set price no matter you go. I paid right around $75 and brought my car back 3 times before it passed, but I only had to pay the $75 once.

Where was that? My last one was $110, and if it failed, I would have to pay again. I was also told about a place for $49, but it's out in Kits, which is too far. I'd love to find a place in Surrey.

I took mine to Larry @ Greenbelt. It's that little shop right off of 176th around 32 or so. You know down in flats. He's a grumpy old guy but only charged me once. Crappy tire also does em. I'm pretty sure it's regulated by the province on what they can charge.

it's regulated by the province, and crappy tire uses that to its advantage. stay with smaller shops. Dale at OK Tire in Whalley has been really sympathetic to ACVWs in the past -- not sure if he'd cut you the same deal for a waterpumper. but he's definitely a character: at the very least, you could check out his badass mullet.  :mullet:
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.
