It was a staff car at the Luftwaffe HQ in Berlin.  About the closest it comes to Herman Goring is that it is likely that the fat man laid eyes on this car at least once.

So I guess you would think all of the priceless paintings and other art works that Goring collected during the war should also be destroyed today?

You mean the ones he stole? No, they never belonged to him. If he painted them then YES!

Thankfully goring didnt paint this 82E so we are in the clear for the bulldozer thing.

I feel that this car was portrayed to be very original ( not all original ofcourse ) but when the early 90s photos were shown on the samba, theres not 1 thing on this car that hasnt been modified or changed at one point or another.

So although this is an excellent survivor, i think the description is a little misleading.

The description was not misleading, and your opinion is based on a lack of knowledge of this car.

The car had one owner from 1944 to 1991.  That owner is the one that did all of those modifications through the years.  However, the owner kept all of the original parts, so when it's second post-war owner got it, it was a simple matter of re-attaching the car's original parts.

I would hardly doubt that the owner is the type to hype what he owns just to sell it.  He is far too well known to get away with that kind of crap

Not saying it was intentionally misleading, but when i saw the photos of the car in 1991 i was surprised. Everything has been touched.

Incorrect body panels, wrong transmission, wrong suspension, painted some strange 2 tone colour, interior different, gauges different, no bumpers.

To me this car has been restored. The eBay ad states that the rotten heater channel and inner door with a baseball size hole in it was left for preservation sake. Making statements like that when the car has had extensive work performed is misleading.

Just my opinion!
