trying to figure out this damn beam
« on: August 30, 2016, 05:54:01 PM »
so I bought a '73 bus a while back and it's lowered, I want to go a few inches lower and I'm not sure what type of beam I have. I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me what I have installed (based on these photos) so I can determine what my best move is. It rides ok as is (and I know, the lower I go, the worse it will ride). I am trying to figure out if a new beam will get me any lower or if I should stick with what I've got and get drop spindles.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!!

Looks like basic adjusters and close t if not in their lowest position. You could mod the adjuster to go a little lower but all your going to do is bind the ball joints. Drop spindles are the best choice.

Cool, thanks dude. Is it fairly easy to adjust the beam back up when the winter rolls around?

It is simple but can be tough sometimes depending on how tight the center block is inside the beam. as well you may need to run taller shocks once raised.
