Piss Ass Punks !
« on: August 09, 2004, 10:13:59 PM »
Just learned today my aunt and uncles 9000 sqft house in Mission was torched early this morning while they were away. All that is left is a few charred remains and part of the garage.  The real downer is that they built this house 30 years ago when they could afford it, now they are on a fixed income and both retired  and could not afford the $4000.00 house insurance... there whole lives are gone, they only had glass insurance which will cover about $30,000 in windows,  I havn't heard if they had contents insurance.... we are all in shock.

My weekend just changed considerably.  I will only be making it out  Friday night to the drags, Saturday and Sunday most likely I'll be helping clean up.

Other houses on the  street also had vandalism last night, and other attempted fires too.

What posses kids to do stuff like this????

The worst thing I ever did was turn street signs around,  I never damaged other peoples property.

I feel for my aunt and uncle, they are in Prince George right now and have to come back to a burnt out house that had so many memories.

Oh damn, that's beyond terrible. My heart goes out to your aunt and uncle. Just feel lucky that no one was hurt.

Man, I'm sorry to hear about that.... I can't believe some of the bad things that happen to good people, caused by some idiots. Hopefully the people around them will support them through this. Someone better take extra pictures at the show and post em' for Kevin!

Really sorry to hear that.

It really saddens me to learn that (some) youth take advantage of what people strive their whole lives to build.

Sometimes when you get a group of kids together, that are bored+drugs(Crystal Meth is huge right now highly, highly addictive) +alcohol+they believe they can do anything they want.  They have no morals, with just \"don't care\" attitudes.

These types of youth are not typical of all youths.

Becareful the next time you see a group of kids walking down the street, don't judge them by appearances, how they talk, what music they listen to, they are probably kids that make good choices and will grow up with integrity and respectfulness towards others.

My thoughts are with you and your family!

Ian, what you said makes so much sense. Me being a youth, and a young driver, I know what it's like to get a bad rep due to other idiots out there. The same idiots are setting stereotypes and wrecking many of the privaleges good kids have. (driving rights ) Sure its allright to goof off, Im that age and do it all the time, but theres a line that's never to be crossed.

1 teenage boy has 1 brain...2 teenage boys share 1 brain...5 teenage boys still share one brain

...It's just too bad things have to come to the loss of a home

Dave, not leave the topic but remember driving is a privilege not a right and if you remember that you will never be one of those idiots that cause all the problems. I speak from the experience of being an idiot, paid some big tickets in my time. Which wasn't all that long ago.

I also agree with your statement, 1 teenage boy has 1 brain...2 teenage boys share 1 brain...5 teenage boys still share one brain.

And again I am sorry about your families losses.

An eye for an eye, thats what I say.   Little shits should have the same done to them. If you find out who did it, sue their parents for everything they've got. It shouldn't be hard to find a willing lawyer to handle a case like this. Justice would be best served by having one(or all) of their homes seized , sold and profits of sale given to your Uncle. But first, all the kids possessions should be taken from them. And I mean everything. And no I'm not being harsh at all. If it happened to me, I'd probably flip out and go postal on them. :o

Of course we should not assume that it was kids, my friends place in chilliwack was taken over by squatters and wrecked as well but they caught them and they were adults, I am sure he said in there late 30's.

Kevin, my sympathies man. that's horrible.

i really hope they catch those who did it. tough thing with arson is there isn't usually a lot of evidence left behind. i don't like immediately pointing fingers at youth, because i do think they get crapped on by us old fogies just because of a few bad apples. having said that, though, if these were minors, this would be an instance where i would be in favour of parents being charged/fined because of the destruction their children have wreaked upon others.

i know, i know, you all are going to say that the parents didn't do it or can't control their kids, so why should they suffer...  if police find it was \"adults\" -- and i'm using the term loosely here -- Kevin's family would be able to sue and possibly recover some of the costs. but you can't sue a minor. parents are legally responsible for a child until the age of 18; so they're legally bound to feed and clothe the kids and keep them safe, but aren't bound by law to keep others safe from their children's actions? doesn't seem right...

sorry about the rant; i've dealt with my fair share of young offenders at work. but irrespective of age; this whole situation for Kevin's family is just utterly tragic.  :(

(and the upside-down smilie doesn't really cut it for something like this.)
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

The sad reality is, the justice system protects criminals more than their victims. And that's just wrong. Emotions run high and tempers flair when you hear about something like this happening. I'm very sorry for your aunt and uncles loss. I hope the perpetrators are found and accidently get run over by a Mack truck.

Thanks everyone for the e-mails in regards to help , as for help I'm not sure what is needed as everything is being looked after by my cousins I am 5 hours away and I will find out more on the weekend.

Slight chance I may be able to make some of the activities, most likely not except for Friday night drags.
