Missing vert window
« on: April 13, 2016, 05:31:19 PM »
So we have a wee bit of a problem.....long shot but, we are missing a very crucial part from our vert project, the rear window and wood frame. It made the trip out west with the car, I remember seeing it wrapped in a black garbage bag and labeled "rear window" on a post it note. Either it went missing out of gregs bus at the sandman inn hotel or at the swap meet? Anybody with any info have cash reward waiting.

That ain't cool!
If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

No it ain't cool.....It hasn't shown up, sucks cause the stupid thing is worth upwards of a thousand bucks! I very highly doubt it vanished at the swap, must have been at the hotel we stayed at...damn!

Wow! That was not what I wanted to read! I assume you've called the sandbag? Maybe they have a lost and found? If it walked at the show that would make me sick!

Anyone take pics of the car at the swap? May be able to see it in the photo to narrow down when it went missing. Just a thought.

Thanks for the effort guys, like I said I reeeeealy don't think it got lifted from the show. When we picked the car up from Canuck towing yard in new west everything was very nicely packaged up and stored in the front trunk. We grabbed the box of gold with all the semaphores and tail light stuff and I'm 99.9% sure the package with the back window and put it into the tow rig. We dropped the car off at the PBI ranch for safe keeping overnight (thanks again Shane) then hit the hotel, beers were consumed along with many whiskey ceasars and we hit the room to crash bringing the box with small parts into the room.  My bet is it got taken out of the bus at night....we all know how secure old vws are! Weird part is there were tools and lots of other stuff in there that didn't get poached? I dunno, still crossing fingers that it might show up?

this blows!

as soon as i read this post a few days ago i went & scoured all the pics i had seen from the show. the only pic i took was the one bwaz posted earlier. i've also done random craigslist & samba classified searches too.

here's a thought...if there is a chance that it went missing in the area (langley/cloverdale/etc), maybe it'll turn up at the cloverdale flea market this sunday...? stranger things have happened. i'd go check it out but i'll be busy in vancouver that day. perhaps someone closer could go there for a walk-about...? that or local pawn shops/auto wreckers...?

good luck, crossing fingers...

Contact Canuck towing? Maybe the plastic bag was left there?
