Sorry if my reply was a little rude, and I get that Bruce was just trying to help and I appreciate that, what I don't like/agree with is the way he went about it. If he had worded it as a question and not a statement I would have had no issue with it, but when people try and make themselves look smarter than someone else (even if you are) it just gets to me. I deal with people (customers, techs and even friends) like that everyday, and the majority of them have no idea what they are even talking about. So when I post on here and get a reply like that I take offense to it. I guess that's why I usually just try and figure things out on my own and rarely post on forums.
Back to the topic, I'm pretty sure I figure out the problem. I rechecked everything last night and just happened to look at the belt and it seemed to be sitting a little high in the pulley. I checked with NAPA and they actually come up with 3 different belts for my engine, and the one the sent me just happens to be the longest one. so when I first put it on it seemed good, but once i started the engine i guess it stretched out just enough to now be riding on the smooth chrome surface of the aftermarket alt pulley. So I'm going to get a shorter belt and see what happens.
