alright. it is time to clear something here.
i got a call from john today. and after a good discussion about the flamed beetle, we can to a conclusion that he will buy it back off of me. i get to keep the tranny, and the pop out windows aswell. so i can put them in my 68. he asked how much i wanted back from him, and being reasonable i said 600. he quickly turned around and said nope...i was thinking 800.
i would just like to thank john for stepping forward and doing the right thing.
i think it speaks loud about the person he is.

OK, Here is the low down of the deal... James got $800 of the $1400 back, However James only got to keep the Pop outs and the stock Tranny. and had to pay for the tow bill back to Abbotsford..$100.00

So I guess that is one lesson learned and still dont buy from John!!!!

But didin't Rjive say 'thanks' and he was happy with the deal?

Didn't he offer 600 and got 800 back?  I agree, it's a bit much to pay for pop outs (unless they're for ovals/splits) and a tranny.  But big window popouts, hmm.

More JB Weld? Maybe liquid aluminum in a tube would have done a cleaner job. Muffler tape would be pretty good to. I can only shake my head at how this deal has gone down.  Sounds almost comical.

from talking to James on the weekend i think he was ready to scrap the car,so in his eye's getting something out of this mess made him a little happier.
who knows i think the only reason may be because of the car he bought from hans made the situation a little more tolerable??plus it did not hurt that hans put in a crap load of time (above and beyond ) what could be expected for a car sale.

Yes John good start, that is a somewhat fair compromise. I, along with everyone else will be more interested to see you if you keep up your shenanigans or you really become a new man and start telling people about your shortcut repairs before you sell them something. Because we all want to see that you did that not because of pressure from everyone but from a want to do the right thing. That will show the true measure. And I think Hans gets the nod for going ABOVE and beyond the call of duty
