Mighty 45's Race For A Cure
« on: August 05, 2004, 08:39:07 AM »
Race for a cure.
Ok  all you Mighty 45 owners, Here is the info you have all been waiting for.

We will have a Mighty 45 race at the GCVWS (there will be no eng blow this year) All 45 owners can join up to ten people.
We will set up a track around the main tent and have 3 or 4 heats. The fist few will be a 2 lap race the final will be a 4 lap race. The idea will be that every rider will have  a number and people can choose a rider and their guess at the riders time to complete the 4 laps in the final race. The first few races will be to help guess possible times and get the crowd intrest. The prize will be as follows;
Each guess will cost $2 (or so)  people can guess up to 4 times per rider. Half the money raised will go to the person who guesses correct the other half will go to  the Canadian Cancer foundation.

Things we will need;
 pylon cones

T shirts- maybe Rick Kish will donate some, ten would be enough?(what do you think Pointblank)

Everyone runs on the same gas and oil combo

James bring your first aid stiff....i'm not kidding.

any other input?

Sure, I'll do the first aid for the race, if you need Geoff I can do it for the entire show day. - I'm getting good at kissing owwies better  :wub:

Seriously though, if you guys plan to compete please wear a helmet, at 15 KMH a sudden impact on a hard surface is enough to leave a person seriously brain damaged - I'd rather fix scaps and bruises if it's alright with you guys :)

I suggest safety gear just like real racers wear. knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, etc. sure hate to see bio hazard all over the \"race track\".

Yeah helmet is a must, pads for knees and elbows are a bonus.
We may give prizes and not cash, that is to be seen.

Pointblank,
I was thinking maybe Rick could sponsor the shirts as we give him a ton of business, he could put his logo on.
76bus if you are working on a logo or shirt idea send me a copy, we need to have the Race for a cure and BC cancer info.

I was thinking the riders could chip in say $5 or $10 bucks into the pot too make it more interesting for spectators, it is for a good cause.
