6v Horn Help!
« on: August 02, 2004, 02:23:04 PM »
I'm trying to get my 64 back on the road for this weekend.  One \"legal\" thing that is holding me back is no horn.  There's power to horn, ground OK, but horn no workee.  I popped the cover off the horn and can't see any broken wires or burnt contacts or anything.  Has anyone succesfull resurrected a horn before?     What can you test?  Continuity?  I have to admit, I was quite surprised when I opened the horn.  There's a lot of metal in one of those!

Thanks,
Keith

Time to change the horn me thinks. I've had horns go kaput on a few cars. Like anything, they don't last forever.

Changed the horn and now it only works when it wants to.  Once a day or so.  Stupid thing.  Must have a high resistance ground or something.
