Local Locksmith for Getting Keys Cut?
« on: August 26, 2015, 04:21:32 PM »
I am wondering if you guys know of any or could recommend a local (Vancouver area) locksmith that can make some keys for my door and ignition switch for my 1964 Beetle. Id like to get the original style VW emblem keys cut. Bought a project car and it didnt come with keys...

Unless anyone has a door/ignition switch with keys they wanna sell me??

Keyhole locksmiths in Langley has never let me down, but you won't find logo keys anywhere locally, that's a job for Steelersbus or Gabvwkey on the Samba, they are far from local but do offer mail order service.

I ended up rekeying my ignition switch with wafers from a spare door handle i had with help from a article on the Samba. Wasn't very hard at all. Thanks for your input though!

I would prefer to replace the ignition switch by contacting a mobile locksmith instead of repairing it.
