Inspection of out-of-province vehicle
« on: April 18, 2015, 04:49:29 PM »
Hi all, I'm in the midst of bringing a car up from Seattle and was wondering if some inspection garages are better than others--especially maybe sympathetic towards vintage vehicles.  I know Can. Tire does inspections, anyone use someone else in the lower mainland and find them reasonable?     thx

I've taken a few cars to Marci Automotive LTD in North Vancouver. They don't just pass anything, but they are very reasonable. None of the things I had to fix were crazy, but were required. I'll use them next time, I'd recumbent them.

if useful for you (or anyone else) this inspection document goes into more detail than the 1 page checklist (2nd link)..   this one is from Manitoba so I don’t know how much applies to BC, but import requirements across provinces seem pretty standardized and the Manitoba list here seems to mirror the simple BC checklist...
