vintage speed bug exhaust

Ive asked before and dave hord and a couple others did give some very good info, but I still havent been convinced. I know the quality is there but my main concern is ground clearance and "invisibility". I get the impression they hang quite low. Does anyone out there run this exhaust? My other choice would be trimil eurotip exhaust, not because of $$ but ground clearance as it tucks behind the body. Please post any opinions, ideas or pics that may help

Literally hundreds of photos out there for you to google and see the systems mounted on other peoples cars. The system doesn't hang low, but I suppose it is more visible than others. I don't find it at all offensive, but to each his own.

I had the Trimil Eurotop exhaust on my '69 for a short period of time, and in my opinion its terrible as far as quality is concerned, and sound...

I like the look......  I have seen them at Concept 1 Calgary, and the build quality is amazing. Am curious how they would sound on a big valve, weber, 1776?.  Would like a good tone but not loud. My 2 bits.

Part of my issue is that my car is body lifted, and the motor is a 1904 so its wider. The bodylift magnifies the look of a big muffler. With the stock muffler (before stroker motor) I put larger diameter tips over the small outlets and left them short which made them look closer to the body and the muffler was barely visible.  Liked the look but stock muffler inlets are too narrow for the wider engine especially at the heater boxes

I have it on my bus.  And it sits only a few inches off the ground.  Clearance is not a problem. If you want to hear what it sounds like with a bored 1776 dual carbs pm your cell number and I will send a video

Raising the motor seems like a lot more work than modifying the exhaust to sit higher.  Im just gonna bite the bullet and buy the vintage speed system and attempt to raise it . They do make one now without tips but I doubt anyone close by stocks it. Thanks for the input everyone

Got the exhaust and for now installed without any modifications. I see now that its really not much lower than stock. It is very much more visible which I really dont like. Kinda wish it was black. The sound is a bit quietter than my previous setup (ive never heard it drive by, but only from the drivers seat) it does make a weird gurgling noise at a certain low rpm. It fit well and im sure it will outlast what ive used in the past and probably breathes better.the tailpipes seem very long but I dont have a rear bumper on the car .
