ratio rockers- anyone use them on a stock cam?
« on: April 05, 2015, 04:17:11 PM »
I re-discovered a set of ratio rockers mounted on solid shafts in my collection o' stuff. got them more than a few years ago and never bothered to use them on anything. in any event, I tossed them on my Baja engine, which other than the header, is a completely stock 1600dp. running in the shop, I can't seem to notice anything other than the idle sounds different.

I seem to recall that they were 1.5 to 1 ( they have those weird looking curved valve contact area, and the adjusters are on the pushrod end, and cast steel)

has anyone tried them out? did you notice any performance difference?

Some of the factory VW engines from Brazil had the VW 1.25 rockers on the stock engines (the same ones that everyone sells today as perf rockers. (they even have the vw logo on them) You can tell they are 1.25 by looking at the offset of where the hole is drilled in relation to a german rocker.

You can use 1.4 ratio rockers on a stock cam no problemo.
