i'm probably in the minority here...but i think aircare served it's purpose, had it's place and helped keep most vehicle owners and sales & service facilities honest(ish) and helped keep most of the vehicles running efficiently. yes, it was a bit of a hassle/added expense and there were scammers out there, but with the massive population growth in the last 20 years i think it helped keep the lower mainland air a little cleaner. plus like busdaddy said, it surely educated alot of people/mechanics (myself included).
it'll be intersting to see what happens next...whether or not we'll all be sucking fumes from a pos in front of us, or if there will be more smog hanging in the valley than usual, or if another type of vehicle inspection will be devised (full vehicle, like the mot overseas). we'll see!
