No I have no questions about Mission's scales just wondered about Hp on some of these cars. Best & most accurate formulas seem to involve weight & trap speed.I ruined my race motor so am using the street engine with the 2 year (free port job) valve grind from Performance Technology right now and it seems quite powerfull ,of course IT has four (not three) lobes on it's camshaft (unlike some of my other engines). I expect it to run an 11 sec pass @ 1735 lbs so it might be around 200hp. we'll see. Are you guys running next friday evening?(July 9) and is it true some of you are going to race with the Super Shifters on the weekend?wayne

I don't get it Hans.  Mine's 1990lbs too on that scale with the slicks.  An even 2000 with street tires.

Even though you have a larger anchor in the driver's seat, I have heavier:
Bumpers
gas heater
4whl discs
big fat wide tires
tunes
IRS

You running with a full tank of gas?

Hey Wayne,

My 65 all steel, glass, original drivers seat, blade bumpers and minimal gas weighed 1540lbs at Missions scale. I weigh about 160 and when I parked the car on the scale with me in it the total weight was exactly 1700lbs.

If you have stiff gears and 200hp you'll be in the 11's no problems at all. My first time out to the track this  year I did a 11.95 @ 109.02  with plain ol chevron 94 pump.  I did consistant 12.0sec runs in the 1/4 that night.  So I think I'm pumping some decent HP numbers. If I had stiffer gears than my 1.56 and 1.22 third and 4th I know without a question I'd have faster ET's. With my current setup I drove to mission on my street tires from Vancouver. That 1hr + drive wasnt fun at all. Thank god for earplugs.

thats funny.

back when the band i was in was playing shows, i had the \"pre-show dump\" ritual. and it worked. use to play a wicked set after a good release. unless we were playing at the cobalt. then the \"psd\" would be taken care of at home.

same for the studio. take a load off, and then go cut some tracks.

My 66 6v fastback weighs 2280 with me in it and ran a best time of 16.2 in the quarter. could not get the car off the line without some wheel spin though. It was hard early in the evening with the ricers driving thru the waterbox w/ street tires  and no burnout!! Talk about slippery.
