We've used some of these tires and they look and work awesome. i'f your building a high power street-strip VW and want the "look" of  the re treads that were popular, give these guys a try.

It's all about the look... Our Caldwells are pretty heavy too. The weight of the 6 and 6W firestones recapped would be less than the 37lbs I think.
either way it's an option for a street car.

My re caps are definitely lighter than 37lbs, but agree it is more about the look than performance...
