I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that money isn't really a problem for this guy.

Yes, I'd say Florian is flowing in cash. I can imagine how much it cost to ship the remains of the 52 Canadian bus shell to France, then convince the customs head that it was actually a vehicle! Glad there's people out there with the funds and drive to do this.

In his post on the Samba, he said: "Last week have been very stressfull 'cause the container arrived in France, but the customs didn't want to let the bus enter in the country. They said it was only a junk, unrestorable, and as we can't import junks it will have to be destroyed ( Shocked ).... I have had to convince the chief of the customs department of Le Havre that this bus has a huge historical value and a lot of potential and after a few days it's been accepted".

No, I believe it was a company called the Toronto Motor Car Company which brought in the first load for the CNE. It was July 1952. It's assumed that all these vehicles were sold, either in Canada or to the states where they already had a following. These would be double glovebox splits.

Volkswagen Canada was formed in September 1952, and they brought their first load in late November, early December 1952. My car is one from that load.
