Paint into spray cans?
« on: June 01, 2013, 08:58:32 AM »
HI Guys,

Does anybody know where I can get paint mixed and put into spray cans?(not the WW colours) I'd like to do some small touch up etc and a spray can would be perfect.

Thanks

lordco sells this nifty set up it has a glass jar at the bottom of a air chamber thing, any colour you want in a spray can, i dont think they lay down very well, but neither do spray cans!

have fun buddy!

I have used Valley car color in Langley. Not cheap, about 30 bucks a can.

IIRC Lordco also can put paint into regular spray cans.

Thanks. I'll give them a call.

Wonder if they can mix an accurate match. Do you feed them the formula or do they scope an example?

i've used lordco spraybombs a few times, and sent customers there for a match for thier stuff that couldn't be powdercoated, when i did that sort of buisness. they are a little pricey when you consider the amount of paint you actually get in the bomb. as for the colour match, i'd say its about a 50/50 chance of it being good enough to pass a glancing inspection. and thats only if its a solid (non - metallic) colour. if you're looking for a perfect blend and clour match, see a bodyshop
the customer is always wrong

Concept finishes in Richmond are great for this. Can't remember how much but I had a pint mixed and a couple cans made up. I just gave them the VW paint code over the phone and it was a good match. Nice people to deal with. Tom

Thomas, How was the paint match compared to the original? How did spray cans perform?

I'm not planning on painting the outside of the car, but fixing up the dash and a few areas inside.
