....does ...or is there a functional \"chat\" room in this place....do most/all  that frequent  this fourm just use it as a message board, more than a \"chat\" site ?
 Does anyone know of a functional \"chat\" site. Maybe one that people who might have a \"VW\"engine but not necessarily covered by a \"VW\" body-type can chat r/t...and not have to look back day after day, to a possible remark or answer to questions or thoughts ?

Check out VolksRods.com. They have a chatroom (Monday nights are the usual active times for chat). The site itself is all about cutting up VW's so your project sounds like it would fit right in. Make sure you do an intro and have a look around before you start to ask questions. You'll get a better response that way. What is this non-VW bodied VW powered car you are working on?
