Anyone know a good trademark lawyer?

My daughter has received a letter that she needs to cease using her company name as it infringes on another companies name. Although similar, not close to each other, and she needs some advice on whether she should spend the time, trouble and expense to fight it. If you know of someone who's experienced in Trademark stuff, please pass their name on to me.

do a search of companies who ran afoul with the olympics and see who they used.  There were a few that where successful in beating the Olympic regime.

Many times the lawyers will send a threatening letter when they have no leg to stand on.  People get too worried about it and comply with the demands.  Do some online research to find out how much difference there needs to be to be considered unique, then you can send the lawyer a reply poking fun at his amateur attempt.  I bet you never hear from him again.

we've contacted a lawyer who said just that Bruce. He said we should reply in writing to their demands... which we hired him to do. Waiting back to hear. Supposedly this particular company jumps at others to keep defending their name.... right or not.

I know of a case of two companies using exactly the same name.  One co sent a threatening letter to the other.  The "other" co was owned by a lawyer who determined that her co was in business longer, so therefore had the rights.  The first co was informed that they had to change their name!  Sometimes it's better to shut-up.
