I just want to thank everyone who came out in support of our first show... It was excellent. I also want to thank everyone who's cars were not done, yet came out to look around. Sun was hot and prizes were plentyful. Airspeed had a huge display, and Jims son took home all the prizes. Well it has been a day since and I have had some sleep and Just want to thank everyone......

The show in my eyes was a huge success. And you know the big reason why? It was fun! I mean come on it don't get any better than a hot summer day with cool VW cars and GREAT PEOPLE! And that's what we are all about, sure we might talk smack every now and again but when it comes to helping a fellow member or anyone who needs it we'll be there.
You see it's not about being the best or thinking your better than anyone it's about spreading this great hobby and getting everyone excited to be part of it. So how do you and I do that we come out and support, it don't matter if you have a car on the road or not, hell our own club only had two cars at our own show!
Anyway, please don't take this as me going off on a rant or anything I just want to make sure everyone understands what this club is really about and what we are trying to accomplish.
If we all pull together and remember why we started with these cars in the first place we can build something really special around here that everyone whether your in club a racer or a stocker or not can be proud of!
So get out there at the next street legals, cruise, meet or where ever a few of us may be and show some support. We'll all be a little better for it.

And remember \"The DGLVK giving hugs and spreading love at a location near you\"!

Thanks
Shane

Ya, congratulations are in order for the DGLVK's first event. we had a good time this weekend, came home looking like lobsters, and sold a couple hun of goods.  If I didn't know better, I would say this show happened in previous years ;) .

I was quite surprised to see no DVKK cars (with the exception of Geoff and Bruce) and no KK cars, what happened guys??

If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

i had a great time at the show :) sux that i did not make it untill 1pm but i had fun none the less...and got to take the turbo bug for its first \"real\" drive...thanx allot for the trophy..it looks great!

On a bad note though..i made it to about poco then the car fell flat on its face...hit the gas and all i got was a cough..and a no go...shut it down...checked for problems..found only 40PSI fuel pressure with no leaks (should be 55-56 PSI) the regulator is all hooked up..but my pump is getting loud...so im thinking its a bad fuel filter...seems like the only thing i can think of...altho the filter is new..but stranger things have happend.
the car runs fairly well if i dont get on the gas hard..it idles fine..just when you ask it for more gas quickly..it SOMETIMES coughs and no go..
i hope its a fuel filter...or plugs...

Great show !
Cale

fab job guys. great cars, peeps and a buttload of prizes. that, and whoever ordered the weather should get a pat on the back...

that, and there was a most excellent mullet sighting! i'm pretty sure someone here's gotta have photographic evidence of that bad boy! :mullet:
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

Someone recently said \"It's all about the love\"............

It's not about who showed and who did not! It's really cool that as many people showed all from some word of mouth and some forums, imagine how big it would be if there had been some serious advertising! It's a great Father's day show, my Dad was sorry that he was unable to show as he is 5000 km's away!

It can only get bigger! and it was cool to see some father/son entries as well!

So again big kudos to the DGLVK!

Great job guys, it was a nice show in a great location. I think it would have been much bigger with some more promotion and if the Dyno day happened. Maybe next year for the dyno day???

It was too bad no KK enterd their cars, I saw a few of them in the parking lot. It's too bad because they have some nice cars.

As for the DVKK and someone saying the local clubs didn't support them. Even though their cars wern't there the guys who could showed up.
Bruce and I had our cars in the show, Richard had his 65 there but in the parking lot. Brad was there with kids but no car (trans and motor out) Jimmy was there at the booth.
Darren was busy working on Shane DGLVK motor so he can race friday.
Gavin was in Mexico and most of the others were with their fathers.

Where is the love?
