Question
« on: October 01, 2012, 02:10:21 PM »
I don't believe I have ever posted a snap of my 63.  Here are a couple. Had it for 5 years and am contemplating a switch to a Ghia?. Not sure yet. 1915 / webbers, and add ons n add ons. Really enjoy but last couple of years I have been too busy working out of town to tinker. Even though it is pretty much done, as you know, changes are always on your mind. Might be change time. Keep it or sell it?.

give us a deeper description about what you've done, lowered beam/spindlers, discs, body work done or needed, pans etc, interior... original or custom, transmission, and motor work done... just to get a better idea of what you might ask for it?

Okay....  Car was pan off, media blasted, original sliding rag, POR, dynamat, lowered front beam, westcoast interior, bamboo package tray, 1915cc, 48 webbers, 110 engle cam, 041 full flowed heads, lightened fly wheel, forged crank, full flow oil, balanced internals, elec ignition, phatboy exhaust, berg shifter, sprintstars, new link and pin, retrosound radio, banjo wheel, roof rack,, hmmm I know I am missing lots of little stuff but these are basics. Still drum brake, but that may be changed as I have a set of discs, just not installed as yet. Car is a great low ride and I have never driven long range, extended cruise in it as it is a little stiff and oh yeah....loud. Local car shows and nice day only cruises. Although heater assemblies are intact and there with cables ready to hook up to heater boxes, they are currently not used as motor set up without heater boxes. Paint is good with some minor pin size chips up front that should be addressed to be mint. Chrome and all else excellent. It was appraised by a Calgary appraiser at 19500 two years ago but that is for insurance purposes and not realistic.  Does this help me narrow it down. Don't know where market is these days n that's why I asked. You guys are pretty current on real world pricing so thought I would solicit your opinions. Thanks gang.

Nice lookin ride man! Last year of the ragtop, full resto...Pricing is hard, people just don't have the expendable income for toys these days!!!! To me (no offence) without seeing in person from your description looks like a 10-12K car realistically???? But I could be way off...

You may want to edit that statement about the appraisal incase you are claiming before it sells and a pitbull adjuster finds that, you never know when things said on the internet will come back to bite you.

I agree, sounds like a nice car but it's pretty rare right now to get close to what you have into it back out when it sells. I guess it's up to you and how bad you want a Ghia.

Well you know appraisers, 3 guys look and get 5 prices. Market, I suppose, will judge. Thanks for quick opinion. I know it's hard to say from a picture. I just felt as this site has a great cross section of members and locations of members, I would, "run it up a flag pole" and see what you folks thought. No fire sale or desperate to sell, just thinkin about change of view. Thanks.

Thanks for inputs gang. I am going to leave her in the shop and tinker a bit more over the winter. Think I will submit to "classifieds" when spring approaches. Looked through Samba and concur with your suggestions and opinions. Spring fever could pique the interest in the buying public a little more. Couple of "parting shots" lol  Thanks again All. PS: If I do install the freeway flyer I may venture out your way in summer. Love to see your rides.   Rockdoc
