Tonight At Mission...

Well thankfully the rain held and we did indeed make it out to the track - there was 3 bugs running - myself,Shane and another fellow who's name escapes me right now. Not many cars showed up so there was lots of runs to be had - all together 11 runs for the SC class.

Shane did an enormous wheelie, I was staged behind him and I could see his hood over the car! I will be posting the video this weekend, he was also able to better his previous time as well. (The exact numbers escape me right now)

My car ran well right off the trailer - I have yet to do any jetting but everything seemed to work well together. Had some minor glitches - adjust clutch cable, linkage stuck open and needed adjusting - minor stuff really. I think my throw-out bearing is on it's last legs as well as it was getting noisy.

Pardon? What was that? Oh you all want to know what I ran and who won the 1+ year old bet between Brian and I??? Well I was able to do a best of 14.115 @ 98.17MPH so I guess that means Brian is buying :)

I weighed my car and with me it came to 1660 lbs I guess I still have weight to loose.

h. diddy, i'm not going to touch that rod remark. lol. heheh. i said touch and rod in the same sentance. yoif

good job to all of you and to the DGLVK. sounds like the club is well represented with some cool, different and fast cars. way to go guys.

I had the pleasure of going and hanging out at the track with the guys (and gals)from the DGLVK last night. You all have come a long way in a short period of time.James, running 2 mph off 100 and 10th off a13 with a non stroker and radials your first time out..................Killer,all that trash talk you love to do is justified,no one can say sh..,congrats.As for Shane do you think your wife will be able to get those shorts clean?I was worried about you getting used to the car before you dropped the go pedal, but you must of raced a beetle in past life because you have it dialed.Shane is your heart bigger than your wallet? Thanks again for the house on wheels,it is very much appreciated.Sorry H-Daddy your going to have to wait for Geoff to get back to hold your rod. Thanks for the support, you guys ROCK.
I can't reach the bottom but I sure bang the sh*t out of the sides....

Thanks Timmy.... Ment alot to me that you were there in support and one thing I will always admit .... I am a student.... and I will take any advice from the pro's I can get.... however... the next time you tell me to keep it clean.... I will think twice or I may land on my lid... I also want to say THanks to the DGLVK wives and friends you guys are amazing coming out and watching us \"Rookies\" head down the track.... VW's rule and so do the people who support and love them  ........ The best is yet to come!!!! As for the heart bigger than the wallet... you may have hit the nail on the head,,,,, ;)

Thanks for the kind words Jim! Could you tell I was nervous as hell or what!

It's amazing how many people showed up to cheer/watch/laugh at us - thanks for the support everyone!

My new goal is a 13.xxx pass at 100mph in a non-stroker no less! Should be able to do it once I figure launching out and get my jetting reworked - amazing how much abuse my stock tranny takes :)
