AARRGGHHH!

First off, CB performance sucks.. dont buy anything from them. period.

BUT i did..im not gonna get into all the details now..but in short..nothing fits..even the things that are certain 2 fit..dont.

my motor at the moment looks like its ready to go..but its not..and it wont be untill i find a new fan shroud system that will offer me more room then my 36HP and still cool my motor.

with my manifolds and injectors installed..there is 0 room between the manifold and the shroud..the fuel rail is pinned against the intake..the injectors and wedged into the shroud..not acceptable.
actually..horrible..because the book (that cb wrote) says i should have tons O room..but no...

i dont really wanna pay the cash for a 911 system..kinda more show then go by the cooling tests i have seen..but it would offer more room..but at the cost of me having to get all new ducting for my turbo..

the center mount type 1 i have been told is nasty and cools like shit..PLUS i dont think my linkage will clear the alternator..and the \"ram flow\" looks like it offers little to no more room then the 36 HP shroud in the area i need it..
the GOL shroud is supposed to suck also..whats a guy 2 do?

im gonna make this junk fit. even if it requires buying more junk.
but im getting a little pissed with all this crap LOL its making it not much fun!

The real world testing done by local guys with 911 cooling systems contradict the dyno \"cooling tests\" that were done earlier this year. The amount of air pushed by a 911 fan is beyond belief. Guys that have them learn not to rev their engines when parked on dirt. The air blown down will create a dust storm. You don't get that with a Type 1 shroud.

More air doesn't always = more cooling. But yes, it can't hurt.

yeah but a 911 system also draws more ponies from a motor, right? Jake says what up to 10 HP draw on his dyno? ouch...but at least they look cool. Sorry to hear that your mucho dinero cb kit doesn;t fit cale, that bites, at least you GOT your kit!! lol... welcome to the world of turbos, as Jim can attest, just keep tossin cash in there, it'll eventually work out!!

Read all about it on Jake's Web site - the 911 shroud beats anything out there,
including the DTM shrouds he is making for the Type IV.

As for your clearance problem, you could replace your 90.5 'B' P&C's with some 94 'A'
type cylinders and put some massive spacers under them. That would move the intake's
out far enough to clear the fan shroud.

More money, but you's also be getting more power - that's a good thing

If they suck more air, but rob more horsepower, then change the engine to fan ratio, by swapping pulleys. I can see it robbing a bit more power than a stock doghouse fanshroud, but not enough that your going to notice. I think the good outweighs the bad on this one. IMHO

i have a GOL kit already too go if you are interested.if depending on your usage it may work for you .

just bounced over too jakes sight and it says he is not using the 911 system anymore.maybe he wants too just sell his products.
personally i think he has been doing a great self promotion job!

Talk to many locals that run them, the 911 system is by far the best cooling system for a large hp motor. Ask Geoff or Darren K, they both run them and love it. Since you spent thouands on that kit from cb whats a little more for a nice fit and better cooling. By the way that dtm kit is crap

theres no doubt that they are pretty to look at. And i personally think JR does a little 2 much self promoting but there is no doubt that he spends a great deal of time and money testing things to make sure they work, similar to Berg, Lowery and all the previous pioneers. Added to the fact that there is a limit to the cooling in a vw motor no matter how much air you throw over the cylinders...
