seat upholstery question

I'm starting on the seats. Am I missing a formed piece that will prevent the tubes from rubbing into the seat covers

hard to tell in that photo, but i dont think so i had a set in the other week same thing i just  padded to make sure they gave me no issues

Should be ok. When you put the cover on, you will compress the top of the seat and once the cover is on nothing should interfere.

Those look to be the wrong pads, the correct ones come over the top and cover the ends of the tubes like this for 66- early 67 seats.
