California Turkis Beetle SOLD
« on: February 23, 2012, 07:37:25 PM »
Barn find? nope more like dusty parkade but this is a great car! Imported from California in 1999 and never driven since. passed inspection when imported, New battery tray installed.  It was hit in the front hood at some time and the spare tire dented the fuel tank) . Has orig door panels and a new set of TMI grey vintage seat covers with off white piping and new pads. Will post more pics soon. Hub caps are in the car, has original pop outs This is a project car and will need a good clean up. 1200cc runs strong.
$SOLD Colin

thanks geoff. haven't spent too much time on it yet, but it has only been here a day. my thoughts of putting paint on it and making it perfectly new again are going away rapidly. this car is damn near perfect as it is with a little clean up. thanks for the car! i haven't been this excited to go out and wrench in a long time!

Great to have you back in a vintage VW again Colin. (for those of you who don't know Colin) we both had our VW's back in high school and Colin has had a few very nice cars over the years. Welcome to the ASF!

he he... thanks guys. it has actually been more than 20 years! i know it's not the place to hit memory lane, but remember these geoff? my '68 and 57 rag that i sold to nick who promptly killed it. excuse the resolution. i scanned these pics back when windows 95 was new. i think both cars were gone by '92-ish

i guess this is a bit later on... did this '67 with my brother. fun times! ... anyway... onward!
