Where to mount oil cooler with truss bar?
« on: November 14, 2011, 08:25:47 PM »
I'm sure this has been discussed, but my search of <"oil cooler" and "truss bar"> didn't bring up anything.

Wheel hop is killing me, so I bought a truss bar, but the oil cooler above the tranny is in the line between the shock towers.  Where do you mount them?  I am running a 2110 in a 1973 convertible.

I know lots of guys who fit both up above the gearbox.  If you have it suspended from the package tray, space it down.
One friend of mine hangs his oil cooler under the gearbox, lined up with the diff.  No need for a fan when you've got it in the wind.  He also uses a Berg intermediate mount.  That mount hangs slightly lower, so if it misses the mount, it's going to miss the cooler.
