Know anybody hiring?
« on: August 08, 2011, 02:34:21 AM »
I've just graduated my level 1 automotive services course, and passed my 1st year ITA exams. Now comes the task of finding a place to do my apprenticeship. I live in Powell River so there are no prospects here, so I figured I might as well ask a bunch of fellow car guys if they've heard anything in their area. I would love to work at a place that deals with ACVW's but realize that is near impossible these days. Even if you've seen a sign in a window at a small service station please let me know, as I find a lot of jobs are never posted, more of a word of mouth kind of thing.

Sorry no job offer but as a side note..... My parents live down at Kent's beach near Saltery Bay. I'm thinking about driving the beetle up for the Powell River car show on the 20th.

my bro is a lic. mech and he left victoria due to lack of work. the (j)okanagan is slightly better, but hiring in the south okanagan is done on who you know, not what you know. sorry for the bad news. if you're willing to go to the tar sands, there is always work, but redneck rig pigs generally don't go for aircooled vws, mostly just diesel superdutys (ick!)
the customer is always wrong
