Anyone had glass scratches "removed"
« on: July 25, 2011, 08:11:15 PM »
Trying to do various projects at once, and thought that this one might be one to pass off to a pro, needing to see what can be done with my original window glass to remove as much of the scratches as possible. Anyone had work done by someone they'd recommend?
thanks

the only real thing that can be done is to have them polished, sorta like polishing paint to bring out the shine, sadly most ice scrapers over the years usually do more damage then a polish will cure, no real way to get them out sadly, we've had car guys come in and talk wonders about all the car show sold crap that claim greatness only to find out later their glass has yellowed or dulled we dont polish glass at our shop but i have heard from small car dealerships they have good sucess with using their body polishes on the light scratches.

wish you luck brian u should be good if they are light or sticker outlines but deeper then that i would look for some better ones...

Ah, that's why some nice cars have stickers on the windows ;)

I took a clay bar to mine. Didn't polish out the scratches but did clean up alright.
