After spending thousands of dollars I have lost interest in this project. If you ever wanted a VW Convertible this is the one. The car is light blue with a black interior and top. I paid $10,000 for the car and instead of just driving it I decided to bring it back to pristine condition. The top was in great shape but I wanted a canvas top so I bought a new pad, headliner and top with all new cables. Since I was going to put a new top on it why not all new rubbers,scrapers, mirrors, parts for the top back window etc. The interior was in good shape but since I was doing all this other restoring why not go a little further so I bought a complete interior including rugs,seat padding,seat covers, reconditioned speedometer and a new radio. There are new tires new neoprene bushings in the front end and the engine has had a complete tune-up with new plugs,electronic points, valve adjustment etc. The axle shafts are new and the car was completely undercoated. The car has the original fuel injection system and I purchased a complete system for spare parts from a person in Vancouver Washington. It has disk brakes on all four corners. I have all the receipts and they total $15,000 to $18,000 dollars. This car finished should be worth between $10,000-$15,000 so as you can see I am way over my head in this project. It is now time to let the professionals finish the car, like fresh paint,install the interior and top. The car has classic plates. If you are in the market for a convertible this is the one as you as you will know the exact condition of the car when finished. I want $5000.00 or best offer so come and take it away.
