I remember I was the one that originally brought that car back to life sort of. Rescued it from sitting under a lean-to where it had been and would probably still be if I hadn't have started on it. That was about 6 or 7 years ago IIRC. I did a bunch of bodywork on it, welded the dash up (not my finest work) and all the trim holes too (I think) and was about to dump a watercooled Jetta engine in it or that was the plan at least. I ended up ditching the project, and loaded it into the back of my truck and drove it up to Salmon Arm in the box of my truck. I wish I had a picture for every funny look or thumbs up I got on that drive! It looked ridiculous having a beetle in the back of a Dodge truck. There were no fenders or anything as it was JUST the shell but looked funny regardless. Some douche-bag that was on the forum a while back bought it after Jason painted it and tried to sell it for a million bucks after that. I think Danny had it for a while too but not sure. I could be wrong on the timeline but that's what I remember.
