Generater To Alternater

Not sure about wiring it up in my van and also the difference between one with built in regulater and not .Anybody have any experience with this at all and will my 6 volt wiring take the alternater current Anyhelp would be appreciated

You definatly want one with a built in reg - way simpler install.
Your 6 volt wires will work fine with the update.

oh, and me being the dumb one...because it embarrasingly happened to me.

make sure that when you change from gen to alternator, that you take out the regualtor  (that was used by the generator) if the alternator has a built in regulator (which I didn't know)

the built in regulator like james mentioned is the best way to go.

I completly converted my car from 6 volt to 12 volt. Its surpising easy but there are a lot of little things(More specifically bulbs and other things....) It can be done but you just got to takeyour time and be thorough and patch up any problems you see now and not put it off for later..
