Split Case Tranny experts?

I know there is a recent post for a swing axle tranny rebuilders. Are there any local split case experts? Any old timers out there? There probably aren't to many left that have worked on these trannies. I need to get my 58 tranny checked out.

I know of a guy in Pt Alberni who could take care of it.  He's been working on VWs since 1954!
