The Mission web site shows no street legals tonight, can we show up and race on a test and tune night?

You must be looking at the wrong web site.  The one I looked at had this under the month of May in the schedule:

14--- MOPAC Performance-fri-night street legal

Brad and I drove out from Airspeed at 4pm, We went the route we will take on the \"Real VW street car shoot out\" It took 45 min to the track and we drove at a average speed of 40-45 mph (with a few spirts of 80-90mph :-)
All and all a nice drive and should be good for everyone.

As for the track times, On the the way in i had a shudder in the motor and a miss that i couldn't track down. Checked a few things but just decided to run it. First pass was a 12.45 @ 105 ish Then the motor started to run worse.

Second pass it started to stall and idle bad, ran a 12.57 i think

Third pass  it popped out of first when it wheelied and the BMW beside me pulled out in front, jammed it in second and ran it out only passing the BMW by a car length or so at the lights 14.47

Fourth pass, Good wheelie but still running bad. Ran a 12.54 @ 106

Turns out the intake manifold gasket had sucked in covering one intake and allowing a bad vacume leak.
Oh well, better luck next time.

Brad ran 12.90 100mph and had some traction problems. He may have hurt his trans, we'll find out this week.

Bruce T had some nice wheelies but broke his CV on the third pass , he had that fixed quick.

I have a nice pic of a mullet from the track, i'll post that later.
G.

Bruce are you still running stock deburred T1 cv's?

You yanked the wheels atleast 8\" off the ground before your  cv broke.  I didn't know your car could do that.  It was impresive

Kevin, did you see my first pass?  I think I got them higher than any other time.

Still got Bug CVs in it.  I deburred the cages when I installed them 12 years ago.  The right one has never been apart.  I busted a CV about 5 yrs ago leaving me with 3 deburred CVs.  I don't remember which one it was, but it was on the left side like Fri night.

Yep, but I'm still on the podium at #3, and we're half way through the street schedule so far this year.  I'm beginning to think this \"Hulk\" thing is just a big myth.  Another car that doesn't exist!

Special thanks go out to Stephan who was willing to get his hands dirty and help me change the CV joint.
