Anyone sent Rancho a tranny core?

I'm in the market for a performance tranny and wondered if anyone has dealt with Rancho and if so did you send them your core and if you did how much did it cost to ship it there and what transportation company did you use?

I get most of my transaxles from Rancho, I've never sent a core. It's usually not worth it in the long run. Even if you do send a core, they can't tell you if it's worthy as a core until you've gone through the hassle and expense. Just my .02..

Hey Lanny, have you had any experience with getting a tranny from them (Rancho) for a early beetle. I have a 58 bug but some one has allready updated the tranny from the split case to a syncro style. I'm sure they changed the nose cone and hockey stick as the front mount looks non modified. So what I wanted to know is have you ordered a 12 volt tranny then do you swap in your own nose cone and hockey stick after or do they do the modification but then charge you for it???

They will do whatever you want.
Order the trans without a nose cone or hockey stick then use the one you already have.

I just remember you and Kroc sitting there with big ass grins... saying just jump and and try it.

So to stay relevant in this topic I advocate getting a quality guy to build your tranny to reduce future issues...
