Ok so it's not Jim but some old lady who ran a red light and smoked someone. The old lady hasn't  even noticed she hit someone yet all the drivers around her are in shock, look at their faces.   Now thats going to leave a mark

Holy crap! I bet ya red light cameras have caught alot of stuff like that.  I'm not a big fan of photo radar, but red light cameras are Aokay in my book.

Has anyone noticed lately that a lot more people are gunning it for the yellow and in most cases running the red light? I have had so many close calls lately, and not too mention all the asses that think VW's are slow and cut in front of you.

Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

Yeah that one hits a little close to home. Not sure if Lora has seen this thread yet and I don't think I'll point it out to her. I very strongly believe that once you hit about 60 years old you should have to take some kind of road test (including a reflex test) at least every 2 years. At that age, even if your eyes are good and your driving record is clean, your reaction times just ain't what they used to be. The lady that hit us (70 years old) drove through me then Lora before she had any idea what happened.

ditto to that.

somethings got to change. there are so many bad drivers out there of all ages. it should depend on your driving record and the number of tickets you receive, aswell. i know that the more accidents you get in the higher your premiums, but really, wtf is that. it's a slap on the wrists. you can buy your way out of that one. how after 2 accidents you get a permanent mark on your license and your made to take a test every 2 years for the next ten years and then only if your accident free, the mark gets removed.

after looking at the pic that bruce posted....

okay, i'm not siding w/ the driver or the pedestrian. it was obviously the drivers fault. but damn, the guy should learn the look left, look right, look left again rule. his head was down as he strolls across the intersection.

i know i look both ways, and then both ways again until i'm to the other side. you just have to in this city, or anywhere for that matter.

and i know how getting hit by a car can f*ck up your life. it sucks, plain and simple. but pedestrians must be on the look out too.
