Press in wheel studs

I am tired of the crappy thread in studs twisting off every third time I torque one of my Empis on my car. Has anyone drilled out the drums and pressed in studs? What size studs did you use, did you have to countersink the studs into the drums for clearance inside the drum for the brakes? If you have done this I would appreciate some input.

The common stud to use is M14.
The backside of the drum must be spotfaced before you install studs because the inside of the drum isn't flat or square to the stud.
If you want this done, hit up Cameron.  He's machined many many drums for this upgrade.

Hi guys,
You can do this mod yourself, if you access to a drill press. Drill out the existing holes, with a 9/16 bit. And spot face with a 13/16 counter bore.
Cut the studs to the correct length before you install them. Press in most of the way, pull them into their final place with the rim and lug nuts.
Easy peasy!

I also like to cut the knurl down a little bit. Makes the studs a bit easier to install. Also makes the knurl concentric to the threads.

Just make sure you can run a 14mm stud and nut combo on your type pf wheel. Some will only work with the 12mm and shank nut.
