Car show at Langley Speedway Sat. Sept. 11

I was at this show last year (without my car) and it was a very neat show at a very historic site. I don't recall any VW's there last year. I thought that it may be fun to invade the speedway this year with VW's as a wrap up to the season.

Quote from the Langley Speedway site:

It has been reported that the Langley Good Times Cruise-in will not be held this year.

We have no intention of "replacing" this event with our own, but in light of the fact that this weekend is linked to Langley, we will be holding our event as scheduled, except it will be moved to the Saturday, for this year. When the Cruise-in returns in 2011, we will return to the Sunday for our Reunion.

Therefore, the 4th Annual Langley Speedway Reunion will be on the weekend of Sept. 11-12, 2010. The main "show" will be Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.

We will once again offer camping near or at the Speedway on both Fri. and Sat. nights.

All your support is greatly appreciated and we hope that you will come enjoy the many things that the Langley's have to offer.

I went to a car show there years ago, when I had the Super.  It was mostly hot rods, but everyone there said I should have brought my car.  So, I can imagine thier faces when some nice VW's roll in this time around.     I'd be into going Chris, but I'll have to check my schedule.  I'll let you know.  PM me your number.  Darren.

As long as the weather holds out, I plan on going.. Though as I posted on the BP thread... I need to get my battery hooked back up

If the weather is decent I will be their for sure, after my sons soccer game. Their is also the Ron Ford show at Ocean Park Ford on Sat. Its always good.

Doors open at 8.. don't think we need to head out before 9.. they don't have much info about the show out there.. not sure how bit the turnout will be. THOUGH.. you never know with those Valley folk.

 Got my battery box bolted in.. secured .. etc... I rock.    So yes.. running tomorrow morning.

Chris E and I are meeting at the Tim Horton's at 9.  86th and 200th St in Langley.  Just off the freeway on the south side (Wendy's parking lot).  See you there.

Not too bad turnout.. We three the only vdubs..  The weather was chilly.. hot.. chilly.. hot..  It's a pretty cool location down there.. would be a cool place for a large get together.

And those three VW's looked sweet! 
I don't know how much effort it took to get the GVRD (Metro) to let them put on an event there, but it's a great spot.

Ya.. left camera in the carport with my car mats.. had to resort to cel phone for pics.. sorry. Chris may have taken a couple.

They had the burger trailer there, multiple booths. The unfortunate part was that they didn't advertise very well, and being in that location it would have been helpful for signs or something. The track is at the end of a 'dead end' road in the middle of butfutnowhere. It could have been a lot more successful.

Took me half an hour to find it after driving in circles around the park! It was no GCVW for organization....
