Who am I going to smalk talk with now, lets see,  Geoff I'm going to whup you to make up for last year.    :P     Jim's car won't be ready, Darren D, if he has a bad night maybe I can keep up to him but he would have to let off at  1000', and even at that he still will run a 10.7.  Alan, Darren K, Danny, Geoff, Neil. Maybe Mario will bring his mid 11 second car up from the states.   Do some of you DVKK guys remeber how to race since you seem to only get out once a year?

Actually for me now that my gearing is all changed, I'm not sure how my car will be, rpms will be up higher for longer and don't know if my float bowl will stay filled, If everything is going to work as planned I'm hoping to run a 10.8? @ 124 mph with my 2110 singleport pile of swap meet parts with 19 pounds boost.  ( Darren K said that some years ago,  still hear it ringing in  my mind)   ;D  This motor has not come apart in 3 years yet either, so I would have to say swap meet parts work ok.

Maybe I should look to take out 200 pounds of metal cause at 1850 lbs my car is not so light either then I could get into the mid 10's with another gear change.

every year the "WOK" has claimed the oficial spot of the fastest street car at the great canadian .
so this year i figured i would give someone else a chance .

so with the "WOK" on holidays this year the doors are wide open .but someone better take it with a pass in the 11's

p.s
i can be bought with beer and will offer my 1/4 mile tuning skills at mission to the person with the most and coldest beer on hand .
that is until i've had too many and what ever comes out of my mouth is full ,100% crap but will still sound cool

Not going to work well with a zero tolerance policy at the track.....

Another one of Jims attempts to try to maintain his record, seems pretty shady to me.

Well, I won't be running 11's, so not really involved with the official smackdown.  However, I do plan to try for some 12's in your good air at Mission.

One question:  will my 10.5:1 CR be okay on your 94 octane Chevron...hope so.  I've been running 91 octane in Calgary, but we're at 3,600 ft.

Thanks!

You should be ok.  What is your cam?

When Alan ran 10.0:1 CR, I snuck some 91 octane in it so it would make good power.  Alan was too much of a nancy to give it a try.  The result was 11.93, fastest he ever went.

Using higher octane fuel than you need just makes your car go slower.

With that giant cam, I bet you could run 92 octane Chevron here.

Not smack talk here, but I do hope to get my car into the high 14's with it being my first time to the track and on a pair of hard-as-stone 165/80/15 tires :P

Alan U and Darren K, are they coming?  What ever happened to Brad P.  I havn't seen him race a car in a very long time.  Danny boy still have a bug?

So far it sounds like only a few faster cars, I guess we won't know till we show up at the track.

I'm leaving right now.

I wish I had an extra 4 hours to spend on the computer. I did spend 4 hours trying t tune my stupid car yesterday so we will see what happens, so that is why there is no smack talk here. Lol.
 Kevin drive safe dude.
See everyone there.

Not smack talk here, but I do hope to get my car into the high 14's with it being my first time to the track and on a pair of hard-as-stone 165/80/15 tires :P

I didn't quite reach my goal, however my brother Jon got his goal of a low 14 second 1/4 mile with a 14.3.

My stock transmission/"capial metric radial" 165 tires and HORRIBLE driving got me down to a 16.1 in the 1/4 mile.

It felt like my car was missing all the way through the gears and I had a few instances down the track where the car would hit a flat spot and stop accelerating.  I think the jetting definitely needs to be looked at.

I guess it doesn't help that this was the first day I've ever raced down a drag strip before, or that the first time I ever drove the car after buying it was the drive out to mission.

More seat time and some tuning and 14's should be within reach! I had a fun time tonight racing against other aircooleds!  I can't wait for next year!

stephan...good job to you & your bro. half the battle is just getting out to the track to make some passes. like you said...your times will improve with experience, slight mods and some tuning.

and congrats to everyone else out there tonight! it's always great to see the vws run hard (fast or slow  ;)). great night with some cool cars and good friends!!
