OK all, I just figured out a little secret. I guess if you want to get any deals on here you are going to have to get better technology. Once you click on the classifieds in the bottom right there is a button that says "Notify". You can enable it so that whenever there is a new post in the classifieds it will send you an e-mail notification. Then set your e-mail to notify your mobile phone. If you have internet on your phone you can always be one of the first people to respond to classified ads on here.
If you don't....I guess don't expect any of the good deals that show up on this site.

You should still always be very clear in your communication with the seller as it isn't always first to e-mail that gets it.

I actually just figured it out. I'm just leveling the playing field for everyone.

I turned the notification on but I don't have notification from my phone (work phone). I don't need to be buying anything right now anyways. I'll be going in the opposite direction for awhile

I just asked chris Caswell about this and it never worked before, he just got this working with the new forum. So no one has had any advantage over anyone else.

Now that we all know about this feature no one will either, I think that's the best way.

Well.. I work for the school board.. and as such, am off for the summer. SOoooooooo... My plan now is to just SIT here.. ALL summer.. Not going to move.. Just watch.. for new posts.. not going to do ANYTHING else.. nothing......

OK....checked it out. On the Samba you can specify keywords and categories. On the Classifieds drop down menu there is a link to alerts.

I won't be doing this for awhile yet. We will be in selling mode for the next while.

Also here's a fun easy to use tool for Craigslist. Cool spider logo too (I think that's in Reno NV?)
