Stock Motor Challenge 2010!!!

hey y'all...it's that time again!!!

the 5th annual Stock Motor Challenge version 2010 will be held at Mission Raceway Park on August 6th (in conjunction with the DVKK strip show) as part of the Great Canadian VW Show weekend. the SMC is open to all Volkswagens powered by stock displacement motors. whether it be a type I, II, III, IV, coachbuilt, buggy, rail...heck...we'll even let the custom trikes run...

the name of the game as always is to have some FUN!!! meet some cool, like minded acvw gear heads and get out on the 1/4 mile to give it a try. you wont regret it!!!

trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd...and there will also be runner up prizes available!!

so spread the word and lets make this the best year yet!!

lesson #1...the classic interweb retaliation must include some dumbass trying to correct another dumbass on their spelling (even though i spelled the word correctly) only to commit the ultimate error by adding incorrect spelling in their post. congratulations...dumbass!!

i've got no shame in spreading the smc propaganda...

some of the cars have closed decklids and little sign of what was under there...so i usually just randomly drop them in whichever cars i please. i figure as long as someone looks at it once the seed is planted.

Silas, I forgot to mention to you that I just found out that I have that Friday off work. So I'll be at the BBQ and drags. Might have to find out what my little girl can do in the quarter. I have a totally unknown engine not even a serial number. It drives like it's a stock single port! Close enough?

Well, time is getting pretty tight for building a junyard motor, and I realized last night I sold some Tin so that means tearing into my 1776. Hmmm, not going to happen. Second option is to put a seat in the '75 and get it running.

Will have to experiment this weekend...

Still working on finding a sitter for my boys (my wife is working), and it is my Sister's B-Day, but I'm pretty sure I'm in!  Look out, here comes White Lightnin'!     I mean, the engine is getting rebuilt soon anyway,  thanks to VWguy!   Enjoy the '67!

we have decided that this will be awarded as the "Spirit of the Stock Motor Challenge" prize. that means that it might not neccesarily go to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place participant but could be awarded to any one of the participants. it may be the person with the oldest car or the newest car...the best reaction time or the worst reaction time...the person who lives farthest away or the person who lives next door to the track...maybe the person with the most consistent et's after 3 runs...or maybe it'll go to the person who looks like they're having the most fun...

the winner will be decided by a small and unbiased panel of judges.

so any one that enters the SMC 2010 will be eligible to win this prize!!

so come on out an give'er a go!!
