Tune up parts?
« on: June 03, 2010, 01:36:13 PM »
I just found myself sitting here, needing points for a 009 and not having a to-go-to place for stuff like that w/o resorting to CIP which is a far drive. One shop in the area(I'm downtown) I know is Rudy and Peter's but I just got off the phone and they don't have it. What' are good places in Vancouver for ac parts?

things like points and plugs are a Lordco stock item, Bosch brand as well.

Geez, where's my head today. I phoned Napa but forgot about Lordco. Problem with those places is they have no clue what a 009 is, they go by the car. And in this case 009 was not stock and I'm not sure what other dizzy's it shares the points with.

Use the Bosch# that CIP supplies. They are the same points as late model Beetle/Bus.

I was going to get them today as we were planning on camping this weekend but since the weather is not exactly cooperating, I'm not in a huge rush so CIP it is. Thanks for the recommendation and cross reference.  I'm gonna get two sets to have a spare.

Read my mind. I was just looking at that. You put it in, adjust it once and that's it eh?
