RIP Pal!
« on: May 16, 2010, 02:08:33 PM »
The world lost a good man today. Bill lost his long, hard fought battle with cancer this afternoon. Those that knew him would say a man of integrity. A man of morals. A good friend to have. Give you the shirt off his back. He loved VWs and often marveled at the finer detail work that was put into many of your cars. Your subtle detail work was never missed and always appreciated by Bill. He purchased Gutterslug's 1968 Square when he was unable to work any longer and put his time and effort into making it driveable once again. I value the time we got to spend together building this car. It's amazing how such an endeavor can build friendships  between people. Sorry we never got to cruise together pal. I'll catch ya on the flipside. God bless William Foster.

Terrible news Jason. I was lucky to get to know Bill as well. Nice guy and he was always laughing. All the best to his family and friends. He was a stand up guy.

Truly sad news to hear.  I'm proud to have known him before he moved to the coast.  My heart and the hearts of my family go out to Cathy and the children.  I have a very well aged bottle of Crown that his wife gave me shortly before he was diagnosed.  That bottle will get dusted off and gladly shared as a toast the the fight he put up to have come this far.  We'll miss you Bill.

Thanks for the news Jason. I was just thinking about Bill and wondering how the battle was going. Great Guy and like you said always smiling when there was nothing to smile about! lessons from a man of great character.

Rest now Bill untill we meet again!
