Can you put dual 34's on a 1776 or do you have to use 40's,what difference is there? Trying to keep the cost down this is why I'm asking. Could you put on a larger single carb? What size?

It all depends on what you are trying to get out of the 1776cc.

You need to provide more information about the engine.

i.e.

What cam, heads, headers?

How far up the tach do plan to take it to?

Ii have a 2165cc with dual Dellortos 36s (according to what i have read are equivalent to Webers 40s). My cam has a low duration and I rarely go beyond 5ooo rpms.

I would recomend dual Dellortos 36s , 40s or Kadrons 40s and you may also be able to run a single kadron and I think Cip and Avr both can supply them.

Best of luck.

Depends on your cam and heads.

If you are revving up to around 5500 to 6000, I would install 40 Drla or IDF.

36 DRLA are a good choice for a milder 1776.

I would not install any of the available single carb kits out there.
64 Beetle
86 Nissan Multi
81 Rabbit
90 Malibu Euro F3
94 H-D FXDWG

Any country that protects rights of criminals over rights of honest citizens is not worth living in.

I had the same question many years ago . Bought a 1776 complete less the carbs . Had some old crapy 40 dells that could have been used as an ashtray. I was lucky enough to get the last pair of 45 dells @ cip . Installed 40 venturies and it runs great .

I went with dual 40 kadrons and headers/muffler combo.
