Upholstery material suppliers?
« on: January 19, 2010, 06:31:28 PM »
Damn, upholstery fabric is not a common thing. I'm taking an upholstery course, once week for next 6 weeks and I'm planning on recovering the extra seats I have (early 80s 911 seats) that will then go in the bus.
Thing is, I want to go with orange/black combo. Black vinyl and orange fabric for the seats and later for the door cards. Either solid orange or plaid or some other patterned material I like. I'm not going with Westy orange plaid as it is damn expensive and having a Riviera, it's not like it's an authentic thing to go with anyway nor I'm too excited about stockish theme. I'm thinking about going with contemporary 60s/70s design for the back theme so orange definitely fits and goes great with Neptune Blue.
Anyway, my question is, does anybody have a good source for upholstery material? The guy teaching the class said they are very scarce but I'm thinking somebody on here might know some.
