I couldnt beleive it when I read it today at lunch. I havent missed that show in ten years. It will be very missed and I hope they can make it work for 2011. It was my favorite show, next to the Great Canadian of course.

Not to hijack this, but what's the status of negotiations with the City of Coquitlam re: the town centre for the Great Canadian? Maybe the mayor of Coquitlam should read the Langley response....

"Langley City Mayor Peter Fassbender was taken completely by surprise, and expressed disappointment he wasn't given a "heads up" about the sabbatical. "That's caught me a little off guard... I'm quite shocked and quite disappointed. It's been a great event for the City,"

Unfortunately, this is not unexpected.  As our society becomes more politically correct, more green, and above all, more litigious, you will see more and more of these types of events disappearing.

Only the for profit type events will have half a chance to survive, based on all the hoops and preparations volunteers must go through.

The other factor is that the bigger you are, the bigger target you are.  That doesn't help when you try to insure an event like this.

One way or another, we all have a small share of the blame in this.

Any country that protects rights of criminals over rights of honest citizens is not worth living in.

Speaking of the GC,  Mission also has there racing dates released now for 2010,    Aug 6 or Aug 27 for street legals........so much for the 3rd week of Aug drag races.  DVKK will have to plan a different weekend now.

The problem with politics is that we may not like it but we have to be active on it to have a voice. :evil1:
